Johnson Controls Secures Top Spot on CDP Climate ‘A List’ for 2024

Johnson Controls has once again been recognised for its leadership in climate transparency and performance, securing a place on the esteemed CDP annual ‘A List’.

This accolade, awarded by the global environmental non-profit CDP (Home to the world’s most comprehensive environmental disclosure system) highlights the company’s ongoing dedication to sustainable business practices that support both the planet and long-term commercial success.

CDP assesses thousands of companies and institutions worldwide based on their disclosures related to climate action, water stewardship, and other key environmental issues. This year saw a record-breaking 24,800 organisations take part in the evaluation process.

Johnson Controls has been acknowledged at the leadership level for its exemplary environmental practices, earning an ‘A’ rating across several critical assessment categories. These include governance, Scope 3 emissions, risk and opportunity disclosures, and integration of sustainability into business strategy.

“Buildings are responsible for nearly 40% of global emissions, and as we look to the future, sustainability is no longer just about meeting regulations - it’s about smart business,” said Katie McGinty, Chief Sustainability Officer at Johnson Controls. “Our ‘A’ rating reflects the tangible progress we’ve made by applying the ‘technology trifecta’ (efficiency, electrification, and digitalisation) across our operations and for our customers, helping to reduce both emissions and costs. We’re proud to receive this recognition from CDP and are committed to using sustainability as a lever to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing businesses today.”
