Johnson Controls recently commissioned Forrester Consulting to examine the evolving role of smart buildings in the data centre sector. The study draws on insights from 305 senior decision-makers responsible for smart building strategies within data centres.

The findings reveal a significant gap in system integration. A striking 93% of respondents acknowledged that their building systems are not fully integrated. This lack of cohesion is having tangible consequences: 65% reported reduced operational efficiency, 64% noted a decline in customer loyalty, and 60% experienced increased exposure to regulatory penalties.
