OpenBlue Technology Earns Recognition From Microsoft
Our new OpenBlue AI-driven technology is spotlighted in the Microsoft #BuildFor2030 campaign, currently focused on solutions that combat climate change to shape sustainable cities.
The #BuildFor2030 campaign highlights Microsoft partners whose solutions help create inclusive, thriving economies that meet the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—representing an estimated $12 trillion market opportunity by 2030. Goal 13, Climate Action, calls for solutions that address climate change to save lives and livelihoods.
And that’s where OpenBlue technology comes in.
Johnson Controls OpenBlue Technology: Transformative Data
OpenBlue uses data in new ways to transform how spaces are perceived and experienced. Through our continuing collaboration with Microsoft, Johnson Controls combines innovative building operating systems with advanced information technology. The resulting data, analytics and insights fuel tools and services that increase comfort, security and efficiency—and enhance sustainability.
A full suite of tailored Johnson Controls solutions for HVAC, fire & life safety, and security incorporates the power of OpenBlue. Building owners, operators, and occupants benefit from offerings such as remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance, compliance monitoring, and advanced risk assessments. The suite includes solutions that can be scaled across enterprises and industries, reshaping tomorrow’s cities.
This technology also powers OpenBlue Enterprise Management, software that analyzes building data to reveal opportunities for improved performance and sustainability. Facilities teams gain the ability to turn insight into action, using data to optimize energy efficiency today and identify opportunities for future enhancements.

“We’re thrilled to be included in such an important listing of premier, innovative companies, many of whom are our customers,” said George Oliver, Johnson Controls Chairman and CEO. “It’s a phenomenal reflection on our employees’ commitment to doing right by doing good and our focus on excellence in all that we do. This esteemed recognition is testament to the hard work of every employee around the globe and an indication of what we can achieve when we work as One Team on common strategic goals.”
The Management Top 250 ranking, developed by the Drucker Institute, measures corporate effectiveness by examining performance in five areas: customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility and financial strength. The ranking is based on an analysis of 33 data inputs provided by 14 third-party sources.
Microsoft was the top company on the 2020 list, followed by Apple, IBM, Amazon and Alphabet.
