A global energy company recently asked us to conduct a Workplace Performance Scan for their central London office. Using a combination of high level collection techniques and information gleaned from interviews with the client property team, we were able to demonstrate their workspace was under-utilised and highlighted opportunities to make interventions to significantly increase workplace performance.
From this initial engagement Johnson Controls worked with a group of pilot teams to develop a flexible working solution designed around the existing working practices. By implementing the solution the client was able to drive an 18% reduction in the occupied footprint of the pilot teams and to cancel a short term lease on additional space, delivering an annual cost saving of over £1.5 million.

Johnson Controls Consulting developed the WorkPlace Performance Scan to help clients reduce workplace costs. We consider current cost, service level and utilisation against industry benchmarks and geographical norms. Results of our analysis are presented in the form of a dashboard report highlighting areas where clients can avoid cost or make substantial savings. Key recommendations demonstrate how to achieve this while optimising the efficiency of their workplace.
