Empire State Building goes green
Johnson Controls, Jones Lang LaSalle, the Rocky Mountain Institute, and the Clinton Climate Initiative, in the spirit of innovation and collaboration, have joined together to develop a blueprint to retrofit the Empire State Building using an innovative design process and state-of-the-art tools.
The retrofit program will reduce the Empire State Building’s energy use by a remarkable 38% per year, placing it in the top 10% of all U.S. office buildings in terms of energy efficiency. Advanced information and automation technology provides the foundation for achieving significant energy and carbon reductions and creating high performance tenant workspaces.
This ground-breaking process can be replicated in any existing multi-tenanted office building around the world. We invite you to explore the links on this page to learn how this innovative approach can be applied to your building. The world needs efficiency now…it’s never been more important.
