BBC extends contract with Johnson Controls to 2014
The BBC has extended its contract with Johnson Controls Global WorkPlace Solutions to deliver FM services to its property portfolio across London and Scotland. The three-year contract extension covers more than 612,000 square metres and includes iconic properties such as Television Centre, Media Village, Broadcasting House, Elstree Studios, and Glasgow’s Pacific Quay - the home of BBC Scotland.Chris Kane, head of BBC Workplace, said: “The BBC and Johnson Controls will continue to build on our excellent relationship and work together as ‘One workplace’. We all look forward to working with the team over the coming years - a crucial time of change as we move to Salford and into New Broadcasting House in London.”
Johnson Controls will also continue to leverage our expertise and innovation to help the BBC deliver some ground-breaking strategic programmes. I'm proud of what we are achieving at the BBC and look forward to being part of the ongoing transformation of this iconic corporation.”
Johnson Controls has worked with the BBC since 2006 as a ‘One Workplace team’ partner, managing major events including the British General Election coverage and regular visits from heads of state that require high-end FM management. Every year the FM team manages more than a million visitors to the BBC and answers 200,000 helpdesk requests.
