Overview

The company has more than 300 diverse suppliers representing more than 50 product and service categories. The company’s diversity business initiative is directed by a corporate-level vice president reporting to the Chairman and CEO, and by a supplier diversity team led by a director of diversity business development. The initiative is integrated with corporate business strategies. The diversity vendor process accepts certified minority and woman-owned and historically underutilized businesses.

Spending With Diverse Suppliers

Johnson Controls has increased its spending with diverse suppliers significantly in recent years. In fiscal 2006, the company purchased approximately $1.004 billion in goods and services from diverse firms, exceeding $1 billion for the fifth consecutive year.
